Apple (Mali Fructus)
Parts used: Fruits
Uses: Suitable as a baby food. It contains the pectins which are responsible for the antidiarrhoeal effect.
Comments: No health hazards or side effects are known in conjunction with the proper administration of designated dosages.
Blackberry Leaves (Rubi Fruticosi Folium)
Parts used: Leaves
Uses: Astringent, Tonic, Diuretic.
Carrots (Dauci Sativi Radix)
Parts used: Roots
Uses: It is dietetic, antimicrobial.
It is a useful drug in pediatrics for tonsillitis, nutritional disorders and as a dietary agent for digestive disorders. The drug has a positive effect on visual activity and scotopic (twilight) vision, as well as being a mild diuretic.
It is used in teas for intestinal parasites.
Chamomile (Chamomillae Flos)
Parts used: Flowers
Uses: Stimulates the appetite, and aids digestion and sleep, reduces inflammation. Acts as a diuretic and nerve tonic. Helpful for colitis, diverticulosis, fever, headaches, and pain. A traditional remedy for stress and anxiety, indigestion, and insomnia. Useful as a mouthwash for minor mouth and gum infections.
Caution: Should not be used daily for long periods of time, as this may lead to ragweed allergy. Should not be used with sedatives.
Fennel Fruit (Foeniculi Fructus)
Parts used: Fruits
Uses: Used as an appetite suppressant. Promotes the functioning of the kidneys, liver, and spleen, and also clears the lungs. Relieves abdominal pain, colon disorders, gas, and gastrointestinal tract spasms. Useful for acid stomach. It is possible to use as an eyewash.
Good after chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment for cancer.
Lime Flowers (Tiliae Flos)
Parts used: Flowers
Uses: Expectorant, Antispasmodic, Sedative, Diuretic.
They are also of much benefit in indigestion, anxiety states, and in combination with others remedies in urinary infections. Small doses assist digestion.
Rose Hips (Cynosbati Fructus)
Parts used: Fruits
Uses: Tonic, Astringent, Diuretic, Laxative.
An excellent source of vitamin C, a tonic, and useful in lethargy. Active ingredients increase immunity to some infectious diseases, for instance flu or chill.
